Bruno Fernandes Al-Hilal transfer – Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is edging closer to a blockbuster £100 million transfer to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal. According to reports, the Portuguese midfielder’s agent, Miguel Pinho, has held productive negotiations with Al-Hilal executives at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
While Fernandes, 30, has been part of United’s post-season promotional tour in Malaysia, his camp has been busy off the pitch. Transfer insider Ben Jacobs reports that Pinho flew to Saudi Arabia earlier this week to meet with club president Fahad bin Nafel, who is keen to finalize a deal in the coming days.
Al-Hilal, last year’s Saudi champions and participants in the upcoming expanded FIFA Club World Cup, are urgently seeking a marquee signing to strengthen their squad. They reportedly want a commitment from Fernandes’ representatives within 72 hours.
Despite Manchester United’s desire to keep their captain, Fernandes has not yet provided a definitive answer. His comments following United’s recent Europa League final defeat to Tottenham suggest he may be open to a new chapter.
“I will be here until the club says it’s time to go,” Fernandes said. “If the club thinks it’s time to part ways… football is like this.”
This growing uncertainty has fueled speculation about a potential departure.
Interestingly, former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim added more intrigue to the situation, stating:
“He’s really important for us and what we want to build with this team.”
The coming days could be decisive in determining Fernandes’ future as Al-Hilal ramps up efforts to secure their next football superstar.
